Seventeen-year-old Dannen O’Donnell has never considered herself special. An orphan since the age of three, she has spent her life shuffled through the foster system, battling intermittent blackouts and amnesia, and tormented by terrifying dreams that she could never quite understand. Her only solace is her independent spirit and her ability to get completely lost in a Jane Austen novel.
When Dannen nearly drowns one stormy night and wakes up in a strange house in Ogunquit, Maine, her first instinct is to run like she’s always done. Yet the older man caring for her, Alastar Driscoll, seems familiar somehow–it’s as if she’s seen him in her dreams. Piquing her curiosity even more, he promises to provide the answers that Dannen has sought her entire life.
When Alastar reveals her birthright as the sole heir of the legendary kingdom of Atlantis, at first Dannen refuses to accept it. However, as she learns more about her parents, their death, and the dark forces that seek to destroy her and her people, Dannen finds that she has no other choice but to believe in the prophecy that foretold her birth.
Now, with Alastar’s guidance, and her Guardian–Alastar’s twenty-year-old son Liam–at her side, Dannen must not only embrace her role as queen of the Atlantean people but also learn to trust all those charged with keeping her alive. However, Dannen quickly learns that her new world holds more secrets than she could ever imagine.
Seeking Atlantis is the first book in the Atlantis series.
